We are continuing with our daily loom videos this week. You can watch all of the videos daily. They will be uploaded to the webpage by 9.30am each day. If you want to watch a video back to help you recap previous learning, click on the links below.
Remember you can call the school office for a paper pack of all the work if you prefer. Complete your work in the Home learning book you were given over lockdown. If you require another one, please don’t hesitate to ask. Send in your work to [email protected]

Learning Activity
Revisit last weeks’ learning about shapes and figures.
Think about the previous lesson when we looked at the collage ‘The Snail’ by Henri Matisse. We discussed how it was an abstract collage. Have a look at the slides to remind you of the artist.

We are going to use this as inspiration for our final piece. Snails are an insect and we are going to produce our final piece collage called ‘The butterfly’.
Butterflies are all similar but have their own unique shapes. Look at pictures on slide.
You are going to use Matisse’s snail art as your inspiration and the butterfly shapes to create your collage.
Use your scissors to cut out the shapes.
Follow these steps
1. Create a border.
2. Cut out coloured shapes
3. Arrange them into your butterfly artwork.
4. Stick the final arrangement down.
Now create your final piece.

What can you see? What is it like? What information can we gather? Discuss the conditions.
The men are soldiers who were fighting in the war.
They were unwashed and still wearing their army uniforms that were “stiff with dirt and blood”.
They were kept in large rooms.
There were not enough beds or blankets for everyone and they had no pillows.
There were lots of diseases in the hospital.
The sewers and drains were blocked.
There were rats running around everywhere.
What would it be like to be in the hospital?
Would you like to be in the hospital?
Write some sentences to let us know what you have learnt about hospitals in the Crimean War.

To use an underarm roll
To aim at a target
To create and play skittles
Key Vocabulary Skittles, ball, bowl, underarm, roll, target, aim, straight.
Learning Activity Follow the instructions to create your own set of skittles at home and play bowling.
You will need 10 clear empty plastic bottles, rice, labels, food colouring and a ball.
Place half a cup of rice into each plastic bottle and add a few drops of food colouring, place on the lid and give the bottle a good shake until all the rice is covered.
Place labels on each of the bottles and put a number 1-10 on them.
Arrange the bottles into a triangular shape and mark a line from where to roll the ball. The aim is to knock over as many skittle bottles as possible. If you want to keep score then make a table and add up your scores as you go along!
