Year 1 had a great time at Leighton Moss last week. They went bird watching, looked at plants as well as a bit of pond dipping as part of their Science this term. 1K’s photos are to follow! Year 2 were joined by a whole host of experts from Lancaster University, Local Bird Watching group and RSPB and Wildlife Trust and local Eden Project. We wanted to learn about our local area and in particular the coastal habitat. We learnt a range of local bird calls... In our PSHE and Science units, we have been learning about how to stay healthy. We have been learning about different types of animals, how they change, how they are cared for and the difference with humans. Emily came into Year 2 to visit us and show us a range of animals. We met animals such as Oscar the cornsnake, Sid the African land snail... Year 4 have been learning all about sound in Science. They were investigating whether sounds get fainter as the distance from the sound increases. They were also learning that vibrations from sound travel through a medium to the ear.
