Year 2 were joined by a whole host of experts from Lancaster University, Local Bird Watching group and RSPB and Wildlife Trust and local Eden Project. We wanted to learn about our local area and in particular the coastal habitat. We learnt a range of local bird calls and then explored the local area to find wildlife. We not only explored by going into the habitats, but we used binoculars, and specialist sound equipment to listen to birds we wouldn’t be able to reach. We also incorporated observational drawing of the local wildlife and took this back to school to create an interactive print for out exhibition. We used conductive ink to create a print of local birds, which you could press and you could hear the bird call.
