Year 2 were lucky enough to be visited by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Paul helped to talk through what we need to do in an emergency, how to call the fire service and some of the roles they do as part of their job.
We learnt what to do if we set something on fire on ourselves, Stop, Drop and Roll. See our actions for this below.
An important part of the session was talking through a Fire Escape Plan. Everyone needs to have one of these and this was the first task for the children to work out at home.
Secondly, the children were asked to check if they have a smoke alarm at home and if it is working.
