Seascapes To explore different pencil shading techniques.
Key Vocabulary Line, outline, hatching, cross hatching, stippling, back and forth strokes, scumbling.
Learning Activity Create a sample page for the six different pencil shading techniques. Label each technique.

Learn to sing the song, Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.
Key Vocabulary Song, introduction, rhythm section, riff, tempo, melody, verse, chorus, hook, backing vocals.
Learning Activity Teach yourself the song by breaking it down into different parts: verse 1, chorus, verse 2 and bridge. Practise each part until you feel confident. Can you sing the whole song? Can you teach it to a family member?

The Vikings
Objective: Know where the Vikings came from and when they came to Britain.
Key Question : Where were the Vikings from and why did they attack?
Key Vocabulary Seafarer, raider, invader, settler, trader, Dane, Norsemen, longship.
Learning Activities Look at the map. Can you see the routes the Vikings took to arrive in Britain? Research where the Vikings originated and write a paragraph to explain this.
