Dear Parents,

As you will have seen on the media, school staff have been advised to consider whether the school setting is safe, as COVID -19 cases continue to rise across the country.

I have spent today seeking firm advice from Edwina Grant CEO of the LEA and considering the best way forward for both staff and pupils. Following a discussion with the Chair of Governors,  the decision has been taken to move to providing face to face education for Key Workers and vulnerable children only.

All children will access education from home. Many of you already clarified whether your child was eligible to attend during the first lockdown. If you are unsure, we will be taking calls tomorrow from 8am to answer any queries.

I recognise that this may be unsettling for your child and if your child’s mental health is at risk then they would also be classed as vulnerable.

I will contact you tomorrow regarding the home learning plans and provide more clarity on how this will be delivered.

I am sorry that this information is late, but I needed to access the scientific and LEA advice thoroughly as to avoid constant changes of policy.

As I have always said, I also respect the decisions you make as a parent as you have the very best interests of your family.

Take care

Mrs Hickson
