Remember you can call the school office for a paper pack of all the work if you prefer. Complete your work in the Home learning book you were given over lockdown.

Living Things and Their Habitats
Learning Objective: Understand how micro-organisms can be divided into groups, according to common observable characteristics.
Key question: What makes yeast grow?
Key Vocabulary Classification, organism, micro-organism, unicellular organism, multicellular organism, nucleus, bacteria.
Learning Activities
1. Carry out the experiment to answer the question, what makes yeast grow?
2. Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin. Research how this happened and why it was such an important discovery.
3. The Ancient Egyptians discovered that yeast could make bread rise. But how does this happen? Use your findings from the yeast experiment to help you answer this question.
