Dear Parents/Carers

Just a quick update to keep you informed.

  1. Foodbank deliveries for free school meal children

We will automatically request another delivery for those families that requested one last week.  If you would like adding to the list, please let us know.

We are still awaiting advice from the Department of Education and the Local Authority on how meals will be provided going forward.  I will update you as soon as I know anything further.

  1. Schools places for children of keyworkers and vulnerable children

Can you please ensure that you book a place for your child weekly.  This should be done via ParentApp by Thursday 12pm.  It is so important that we have numbers to arrange bubbles.  The advice from the Government is for your child to stay at home if they possibly can.  We are working really hard to keep everyone in school as safe as possible.

  1. Home Learning

Weekly work for your child can be accessed via our school website (under the Parent section/home learning/select your child’s year group).  This includes the Loom videos from your child’s year group teachers.  To make it easier for parents and children, the Loom videos can now be accessed via the home learning year group web pages without parents having to create a Loom account.

If you are unable to access the work on-line.  There are a few paper copies of planning available.  Please call the school office to request a pack by the end of Thursday for collection on the following Tuesday.

You can upload work that your child has completed via the year group homework@ email which you will find on the year group home learning page.

If you have any queries or questions about home learning we are here to help.  Please email the homework@address or call the school office and one of the team will be in touch.  Please note any queries received after the school day (4pm onwards) will be answered the following day.

  1. Laptops

If you have requested the loan of a laptop I am hoping to provide further information shortly.

Thank you for your patience and support.  As I am sure you will appreciate,  we are working as hard as we can to ensure that all of our Sandylands children receive the best education we can provide.  I know that as the weeks progress our home learning will become consistent and support you and your children to succeed.

If anyone requires support, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will help in any way we can.

Take care

Ms Hickson
