Grammar, Spelling and punctuation

We are exploring the rules associated with adding the suffix -y to nouns to form adjectives. 10 spelling words will be explained and set to learn.

In this grammar lesson, we will revise the different sentence types: simple, compound and complex. We will practise coordinating and subordinating conjunctions and play a sentence building game to check what we know.

Science 

What is a balanced diet?  Why do we need a balanced diet? ·

In this week’s Science we will be able to explain the importance of a nutritious, balanced diet and agther, record, classify and present data in a variety of ways to help in answering questions.

PSHE

This week in PSHE we are looking at what a diet is and why it is so important. In the session on Oak Academy, we will look at the benefits of eating the right foods and will be introduced to the Eatwell Plate. Following this session, we will have a better understanding of the different amounts of foods we should be eating.

Activity  At the end of the session,  write a letter persuading others to make healthier choices.

RE

This week,  we will be learning about the Holy Trinity. Trinity means three!  Watch the Oak Academy session. You will learn about the ‘three persons of God’ within Christianity, the Nicene Creed and why the Holy Trinity is important to Christians.
