17th June 2020
Dear Parents/ Carers,
We can now confirm our wider opening of Year 6 children on Monday 22nd June until Friday 3rd July.
Please ensure you have indicated through Parent App or phone call to the school office as to whether your child intends to return by the end of Thursday.
The children will be taught in small ‘bubbles’ no bigger than a group of nine to ensure social distancing. They will remain in this bubble for the two week period with the same teacher.
The children can come into school from 9.15am where they will be met by the teachers on the front yard. They will finish at 2.30pm and the staff will walk them to the gates. Any siblings who are currently in school under the key worker provision will be able to arrive and leave at the Year 6 times and join their own bubbles. The staggered opening and closing times will enable us to ensure social distancing as well as thoroughly clean the Year 6 classrooms ready for the next day.
Children will not be allowed to bring any bags or equipment with them. Lunches will be served in the classrooms to avoid cross contamination. School hot meals as well as sandwiches are available which are free of charge to all children attending school.
In class, we will be working with the children on some high school transition as well as English and Maths session. We are in the process of further developing the transition units into home learning activities for those children who will not be attending.
We are really looking forward to welcoming the year 6 children back to school.
