This week in nursery we would have learning all about the seaside. What is the seaside? Have you ever been to the seaside? We live in a seaside town called Morecambe.
Go for a walk along the beach (remember to socially distance by 2m from other people). Use your senses. What can you see? What can you smell? What can you hear? What can you feel? Take a bucket or a bag and collect some interesting objects. What have you found? Talk about the shapes you can see. Could anything be inside your shell?
On the sand use a stick or spade or shell to create marks in the sand. What have you drawn? Can you write your name?
Do you have a bucket and spade? Can you build a sandcastle in the sand? How big can you build it? Enjoy knocking it over and building again and again!
Put your interesting objects you have collected in a pile on the floor. Can you sort them into groups? What have you found? What did you find the most of?
Have a listen to this clip of the sea. How does it make you feel? Can you wave like the sea? What other ways can you move? Move like a crab, curl up like a shell, wriggle like a worm.
