Hi Year 4, here are a few more activity ideas to keep you busy this week. We hope you enjoy them.

Maths

This week Year 4 will continue to learn how to count and record amounts of money in pounds and pence.

Have a go at worksheets 6-9 on pages 52 – 64 in your Maths No Problem 4B. Ask an adult to help if you are unsure what the question is asking you to do.

Click on the link below to explore some interactive money games. We would like you to play Moneybox to £20, Change White Elephant and White Elephant.

Writing

Click on the following link to watch a short film called ‘Taking Flight’ about a boy named Tony who goes to spend the day with his grandpa.  https://www.literacyshed.com/takingflight.html#

As you are watching the film, think about how Tony is feeling, what they do and what might happen next.

Select one or more of the following follow up activities to complete.

· Re-write the story in your own words.

· Write a diary entry for Tony about his day with his grandpa. Remember to write in the past tense and in first person.

· Re-write the story by changing the adventures they go on.

· Pick one of the adventures and describe it in detail.

· Imagine you have found dad’s old diary in the garage. Write about one of his adventures when he was young.
