Hello, everyone, it’s Ms Thomas here. I hope you’re all well.
Today I am going to recommend some sites you can use for English; I am sure you will like them!
Firstly, why not help out your parents by doing some phonics work with your younger brothers and sisters? They could even do some phonics by themselves on their tablets or iPads; you might just have to set them up first. If you go to this site, PhonicsPlay, you will find a user name and password that you can use to access all of the resources. I’ve just had a play on ‘Buried Treasure’ so I know it works! https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/
This next recommendation is a particular favourite of mine. The Reading Realm is an app chock full of all things reading and writing. If you used this app every day, you would need nothing else for English! https://thereadingrealm.co.uk/app
Go to the Home page and select Resources from the menu on the top right of the page. Every day there is a live lesson with lots of ideas and resources linked to the text (across all subjects). Ian Eagleton, who runs this site, used to be a primary school teacher so he knows his stuff!
Ask your parents if they can join his Facebook group – The Reading Realm – where he hosts his daily live lessons.
Righto, my lovelies, I’m off to bake a cake. Look out for me again soon for some more recommendations for English home learning. In the meantime, Stay Safe and Stay at Home.
Love from Ms Thomas
